If you have a spare £12k and fancy a week in Salcombe you could think about staying here: The Old Rectory is a stunning property on the waterside at the entrance to South Pool creek, just opposite Salcombe. It's set over 3 acres with a boathouse and slipway and a swing mooring just off the shore.
It seems a lot of money but is actually comparable with it's equivalent in say The Algarve around Quinta Do Lago. And as it would sleep 7 couples is far more affordable than it seems at £1700 a couple, plus you won't need flights to get there! Just a shame that the weather isn't as good. But give me Salcombe ANY DAY over ANYWHERE, EVERY TIME.
Not sure it compares too favourably against the other stand out Salcombe houses:Underbecks and Beach House Quay for location and views, it also makes them look quite cheap!!
Given the choice I would take Underbecks....

My dad used to live in a cupboard like room here in the 1920s helping the vicar out with odd jobs and gardening. A bargain now at £1700 pw?
