Salcombe Disaster Waiting to Happen

The anger surrounding the proposed development on the Shadycombe Crofts in Salcombe is growing. A Facebook group has been started, which those of you with a Facebook account should join..

The stark reality of what we are facing is outlined perfectly on the Facebook site by 2 photos, one of The Crofts as they look now and one with housing superimposed on it...

See for yourself the incredible impact the housing could have on a magnificent landscape.

The Crofts now...

The Crofts of the Future!!!!

As said before Quote -

"Absolute morons, just sheep following along with what they are told! No one in local or regional council has the back bone to stand up and represent the people who voted them in and tell this worthless, corrupt and rudderless Labour goverment where to go"

From what I can remember from the housing needs survey there is an immediate need of approx 30 houses made up of 1,2,3 and one 4 bed property.

Can some one explain why SHDC with the backing of STC are proposing to ruin ANOB & build 100 homes then?

They will either sell the balance as yet more 2nd homes, defeating the original purpose or bus in the type of scum that attacked that poor milkman in Kingsbridge last week.

Just so they can meet targets!!!!

The article below is currently posted on the Salcombe Town Council homepage.
If you feel strongly about this subject dont waste this valuable opportunity to make your views known!

"There will be walk-in Q & A with regard to Salcombe Housing Needs on Feb 1st. between 5pm and 9pm at Salcombe Primary School. All are invited to come in for a few minutes and look at the Documentation and discuss the options with various interested parties.

There will also be an informal VOTE so come in and have your say!!!"

Is this an informal vote to get rid of all the spineless weak pathetic people who call themselves "the salcombe council".

Written without capital letters as they are not worthy of capitals.

OODevon.......You need to get down here and shout loud at this meeting, as you seem very knowledgeable and not shy about coming forward.

Might be a great opportunity for a career change once the idiots of the council are booted out.

LOL

I think the photo's are one of the best examples I've ever seen on the potential impact of this or any other development!

Absolutely excellent -and if that doesn't stir individuals and wake them up to what this could mean to Salcombe, then I don't know what will!!

Supposedly, one of the children from the family that were shipped from Coventry to the houses at Ember housing estate recently, has been in another bit of trouble pulling a knife whilst on drugs after starting a fight a few weeks ago.

Need we say more why the houses should not be built as the Government are just trying to get the inner city benefit scammers to be diluted throughout the country to make the figures look good.

There are not even enough jobs for the children and adults who live here and the surrounding towns and villages in the first place, let alone the 300 people or so that will live in these homes!!!!!!!

It is only going to get worse if something is not done.

Disgusting

How shocking that this blog is being used as a tool to victimise residents. 'Supposedly' is an incredibly weak word on which to base such a personal accusation. I wonder if you were present when the incident took place, or perhaps you were in court when justice was served? No? Obviously not seen as no charges were pressed.

Salcombe is a beautiful, serene area of the globe tarnished only by the folk within who choose to judge and 'gossip' endlessly with no consideration for the subject.

I urge residents to put a stop to this tiresome rumour mill, before a victim of slander is tragically affected.
