Will Credit Crunch hit Salcombe?

This is an interesting thought from the only Vicar left in Salcombe:

There seems to be a technical hitch with Blogger so if you cant see the link above try this link: http://salcombevicar.blogspot.com/2008/09/city-bonuses.html

I know from a friend, who is pretty senior in one of the biggest estate agencies in London, that there has been a huge indflux of £1m+ properties hit the market this week!

Such a shame......or maybe not??

Even more on your property price obsession!Free market economies always have periodic glitches - what do you want more Gordon Brown state control, interference, and an artificial market?(and in any case who rates a vicar's views on anything, - look where religion has taken us, war, strife, exploitation of the ignorant, etc.etc.)

House prices in Salcombe have been in decline since the start of the year. The credit crunch is bound to hurt activity here - much of the visitors' spend is on luxuries which can easily be cut out,eg boats, restaurants, clothes etc. Best value is self catering accommodation which generally has not increased in price 2008 -2009. Book now for next year!

I hear Marchand Petit aren't sponsoring Merlin Rocket week in 2009. Another sign of the times methinks....
